lyrics

You hang your head down so that all one sees is hair. And your hands, they disappear behind that veil so I'm not there. Consolations are deflected with a curse. Filling holes in with a list of wishes revisited, forgetting how they burn. Posturing, your only recourse. Maybe then they'll all leave you alone. Wearing heat resistant clothes, so no one knows that your blood is boiling hotter than your skin can take. And your words are having trouble finding form. It is imperative that you release your screams. And that I am there to take them on the chin. No, you're nothing like her. You're my little girl. But you're raging like a cannon ball while resembling a pearl. Catching bullets in my teeth might be easier than the seemingly Sisyphean task to fix it all; to make everything right.
